South Lee County, Iowa Marriage Records 1837-1851

Lee County’s first marriage records begin in 1837 at the first county seat, Fort Madison, Iowa. However, one book of marriages was kept in the Keokuk courthouse from 1848-1851 and then no more marriage record are to be found in Keokuk until 1873. This book is a transcription of the marriage records and includes the following information:

• Date of marriage
• Groom
• Bride
• Officiant
