Atlas Map of Adams County, Illinois, 1872 (Reprint)

Published by Andreas, Lyter & Company, 1872. This atlas preceded the first history of the county by seven years. Many of the early settlers of the county paid the publisher of the atlas so their names might appear. These indexes list names, residence, business, state or country of birth, and date they moved to the county. There are also biographical sketches of the “old settlers.” Numerous illustrations of local farms and businesses.

The Society also has an index of names listed in the atlas, compiled by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph J. Beals, Cherokee, Iowa, 1975.
